Not all theives are stupid... 3 tips to protect yourself:
1. Don't Leave Registration & Insurance Cards In Your VehiclesÂ
Some people left their car in the long-term parking at San Jose while away, and someone broke into the car. Using the information on the car's registration in the glove compartment, they drove the car to the people's home in Pebble Beach and robbed it. So I guess if we are going to leave the car in long-term parking, we should NOT leave the registration/insurance cards in it, or your remote garage door opener. This gives us something to think about with all our new electronic technology.
2. Don't Have Your Home Address In Your GPS.
Someone had their car broken into while they were at a football game. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and aGPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard. When the victims got home, they found that their house had been (Read More....) [...]
Doomsday predictions have continued to crop up like weeds in an untended lawn for hundreds of years. Everyone has a different vision of how they think the world will ultimately end. These visions run a broad spectrum from Biblical plagues to a worldwide zombie apocalypse.
To the everyday Joe, it might feel a little impractical to prepare for a doomsday scenario by stockpiling food, water and fuel alone to supply a small town. But you understand the importance of preparing for natural disasters such as a flood, tornado, earthquake or hurricane in several ways. You never know when it will hit. Have you considered you might be on the road with no escape route?

When important events are held in an outdoor venue, it is normal to expect large crowds to flood the area. While this is great from a commercial perspective, it is a challenge for event organizers to control the crowds and minimize problems that are associated with large groups. More attendees will require more facilities. So there are many essential aspects to consider like security, first aid, sanitary facilities, and refreshments, to name a few. Crowd control barriers can ease the burden of maintaining safety and security during these occasions.

Responsibility of Holding Large Events
It is the responsibility of individuals or companies that host events to look after the safety of their guests and participants. Therefore, they have to strictly implement effective and organized strategies. They need enough trained staff members to assist during the event, especially when it comes to emergency situations. They should be prepared for anything that may happen (Read More....) [...]
CPR (or certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is a certain type of certification that a person can be awarded for successfully demonstrating knowledge of the process required to manually preserve human life via particular protocols. You probably know what CPR is at any rate, but it's important to understand the importance of becoming certified in CPR, knowing how to become certified, and understanding why it's still a valuable skill to this day.
The Importance of Getting Certified
CPR is a pretty common certification that's not too utterly difficult to get. However, because of this, it might not seem immediately obvious why getting one is important. To understand the importance of getting certified in CPR, it helps to put yourself in a certain scenario where it might be needed.
Imagine you are at a social gathering, and someone has suddenly began to suffer from cardiac arrest. Everyone frantically bolts around without any idea of what they should be doing. In the event that you have your CPR certification, you could be the only one present in the emergency that knows exactly what to do. In turn, (Read More....) [...]
When running late, the last thing drivers may want to do is travel a speed limit that seems unreasonably slow. But despite the presence of specific speed limits and coinciding signage, the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration uncovered a much different picture. Instead, according the the administration, the raising and lowering of speed limits on freeways and interstates made very little difference in the actual speeds traveled by drivers and vehicles, when those speeds were raised or lowered by 10 miles per hour (mph).
Safety First
While some posted speeds may seem unreasonable, especially among chronically late, overworked and busy Americans, there are certain factors that go into the speeds chosen for specific roads, highways and interstates. According to the National Motorists Association, some of the factors that go into the decisions officials and authorities make regarding posted speed limits include: weather in the region, lighting, road conditions (Read More....) It is important to be prepared for emergencies. However, this need is even greater when disabled people are involved. All newer buildings are built with disabled people in mind, so evacuating them from these buildings will be less of a task than evacuating them from structures that were built before many of the current building codes were put into place.
Possible Reasons for an Evacuation
There are many reasons why an immediate evacuation of a house or commercial building may become necessary. A fire is the reason that most people will think of first. However, a gas leak is another reason to make sure every person gets out of the building as soon as possible. A gas leak could lead to an explosion, so everyone should be evacuated until the gas company can assess the situation and determine that it is safe for people to re-enter the building. Weather emergencies and natural disasters are two more common reasons for evacuations. Disabled people who live in coastal areas that are prone to large storms should have an evacuation plan in place. This should also be a top (Read More....) [...]

Many people are unaware of just how dangerous it can be to leave a car engine on in an enclosed space like a garage or an indoor parking area. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 400 people die from carbon monoxide poisoning, and thousands of people are hospitalized with it each year. Many of these deaths and hospitalizations could have been avoided had the driver turned off their vehicle as soon as they entered the garage or indoor parking space.
Carbon Monoxide: a Silent Killer
Carbon monoxide is an odorless deadly gas that is emitted from the gas in vehicles and other sources that use fuel to function. If carbon monoxide is present in the air and remains undetected in an enclosed space, then people in the area who breathe the carbon monoxide may die suddenly or develop carbon monoxide poisoning very quickly. According to the CDC, red blood cells in the body soak up the carbon monoxide very quickly. Once the gas is in the blood supply, oxygen in the blood is quickly depleted. This is what causes sudden death or carbon (Read More....) [...]
