a) 5 grams of high-grade marijuana is a lot more than 4 joints.
b) There may be a reason why the Mexican authorities decriminalised some drugs to this small extent... And corruption on the level required to change legislation is a bit far-fetched and should not be the first conclusion... One reason could be the amount of people in jails: similar to in the U.S., jails are breeding grounds for crime, where criminals who are not in a gang can be forced into a gang, and then create even more 'professional' havoc when let back into society.
c)The GFC was created by relaxed accounting and financial regulations. However, the GFC is used as motivation for all kinds of dubious sales products, including security equipment
d)God has nothing to do with crime. To assume that only non-Christians commit crimes is massively erroneous. look at Catholic priests for instance.
e)There is no proof that I know of for religious instruction in schools decreasing crime rates or increasing retention rates. If you have proof, show me.
f)Using a Bible quote in this article not only subverts God's word, but the actual quotation is misinterpreted, there is absolutely no reference to violence or drugs in those words... Here is an alternative interpretation of exactly those words: Perhaps Timothy is speaking about people who love money, social respect, self-respect, power over others, and disrespect for their creator(s), above love for god and fellow creatures of god.

I could say more on many of these topics I've only touched upon but only wanted to clarify the cloudy information in this article. I hope my comment gets published.

Legalizing drugs in Mexico is not going to make things worse, but better. It will lead to less people getting killed over illegal drugs, and more people staying out of prison for minor crimes, leaving room in prisons for actual criminals. As for the U.S. being overrun by gangs: one million people is a very small percentage of the population. Therefore, the claims that urban America is overrun by gangs is ridiculous. I live in an urban area not two hours outside of New York City, and I have never seen any evidence of gang violence in my area, nor in the surrounding areas. Furthermore, saying that the young men that participate in gang activity have become godless is a tall claim. Many of the young men that are in gangs that are based on and put their faith in God and abuse those who do not. The reality is that this nation is dangerous because of propaganda and the War on Drugs scaring the population into believing that gangs are going to kill them if they go outside. In my opinion, this article is a useless piece of propaganda.
